Mirror teleprompter

A mirror teleprompter for teleprompter glass.

Using a beam-splitter rig? Turn on Mirror text and your script reads the right way round in the glass. Go fullscreen, make the text big, and let it follow your voice or scroll at a steady pace.

Free. Works in Chrome, Edge, and Safari. No account.

Set up your rig

  1. Put the screen under the glass

Use a laptop, tablet, or monitor facing up into the rig, with the camera behind the glass.

  2. Mirror the text

Open More and turn on Mirror text, or press M.

  3. Go fullscreen

Press F or use the fullscreen button so nothing else shows in the glass.

  4. Make it readable at a distance

Raise the text size to 64–96px and keep the dark background for the best contrast in the glass.

Tips for rigs

  • Control it without touching the screen

Use voice following, press Space to start and pause, or use your phone as a remote with Plus.

  • Center the reading line

Set the reading line where it lines up with the middle of your lens in More → Reading line.

  • Steady pace for narration

Autoscroll keeps an even speed. Change it with the arrow keys while you read.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Which way does it flip?

Mirror text flips the text left to right, which is what a beam-splitter rig needs.

Does it work on an iPad?

Yes, in Safari, including mirror mode and autoscroll. Voice following depends on Safari’s speech recognition. iPhone Safari does not support fullscreen.

Is mirror mode free?

Yes. Mirror mode, fullscreen, autoscroll, and voice following are all free.
